The 2017 Reach the Beach Road Race was held in Port Stanley on August 11, 2017. The charity event consists of three races: a Kid’s 200m Fun Run, a 5k Race, and a 2.5k Race. Reach the Beach celebrated its 10th anniversary and 2017 was the first year the race sold out.
Race directors Jenn & Colin Castein did an amazing job running the race from start to finish…see what I did there? From face painters, swag, music, awards, and metals, there was something for everyone even if you weren’t racing.
Reach the Beach Road Race Sponsors & Volunteers
The road race is sponsored by Beckett Personal Injury Lawyers and Plant Matter Kitchen, which make it possible to not sacrifice donations to the race’s charity partner, Eat2Learn Elgin, an Ontario student nutrition program. Other major contributing sponsors include Runner’s Choice, Nothers Signs & Recognition, GT’s on the Beach, Ontario Nurses Association Local 036, and GoEventus. Volunteers were there to sign in runners, organize the races, make sure everybody had bibs and water, and hand out metals and awards.
