Lambton Shores Tournament – Image of the Week

The Tournament – Lambton Shores Tournament

The Lambton Shores Tournament was held at the Thedford Legacy Arena in Thedford, ON. The arena contains one ice pad, which can hold up to 600 spectators. There were seventeen teams participating in the tournament in Atom, Peewee and Bantam divisions. We had the pleasure of working with Peggy Zavitz and her husband, the coordinators of the tournament, and we couldn’t have asked for more pleasant and knowledgeable people.

The Image

Here is the Lambton Shores Tournament Image of the Week. I just really like this picture. I feel like I’ve captured a silent little moment of contemplation. So much pressure rides on the shoulders of a goalie. Although he’s part of a team, I can sometimes see the individual effort and courage a goalie has to muster up to be his best. I really respect that and I think I’ve developed a soft spot for goalies!

The Settings

This is another case where I need to compensate for the lack of light when shooting toward the bench. Because these moments pass by so quickly, and I need to swiftly change settings, I generally only change my shutter speed to brighten the image. This image was shot at f2.8, 1/640 at ISO 6400.

Here is a look at a few more photographs that were considered for Image of the Week:
